Celebrity Rewind: Justin Timberlake Rocks Custom Air Jordan 10 on SNL

Justin Timberlake and Saturday Night Live go together like eggs and orange juice. Back in 2003 JT hosted his first episode of SNL, which featured the successful “Omelettville” sketch. In the skit Justin wears an omelet costume with customized Air Jordan 10 “Steels” painted in yellow. Having aired in ’03, these would be a pair of OGs and perhaps one of many in the SNL wardrobe vault. Since then he’s hosted numerous times with similar sketches but no Jordans. Does Justin need to bring it on in to Customville?

One of the first and seldom forgotten players to rep Jordans in the league was Mitch Richmond. This Air Jordan 10 Mitch Richmond PE marks the era before Team Jordan or even Jordan Brand for that matter. When Mike was out of the NBA catching pop flys the AJ 10 was made up for a select few across the league with their number and team colors. As a Sacramento King Mitch wore this model with his number on the upper and purple and silver accenting the white and black model. This rare player exclusive has found its way on eBay.

Remember when Michael Jordan played baseball? Yes kids, it happened. During his brief (first) departure from basketball MJ’s sneaker line went on a hiatus of sorts when he hit the diamond with the Birmingham Barons. During the time the Jordan 10 was released as a tribute sneaker with Money’s career accomplishments on the outsole. His short stint with baseball ended abruptly when he returned to basketball. Because of his change of plans the soon to be worn Air Jordan 10 Cleat was never produced, making this sample extremely rare. Release Reminder: Air Jordan Fusion 10 “Steel Grey”

Tomorrow, October 9th, 2010, Jordan Brand will unleash the first of two Air Jordan Fusion 10 releases of the year in the form of the “Steel Grey” Air Jordan Fusion 10 for $140.

Obviously, this love/hate Air Jordan Fusion model draws inspiration from the well-received Air Jordan X “Steel Grey” that first released 1994 and again in 2005 (the Nice Kicks Shop also held a “Steel Grey” Air Jordan 10 Vault Release Party earlier this year in May). Much like the Air Jordan 10, this Fusion’s most intriguing features come in the form of the zebra-like stripes seen throughout the midfoot and on the outsole. The predominately white leather base is also offset by a black/steel grey design on the inner lining.

Classic Air Jordans to Return in 2011?

Jordan heads may have a lot more to look forward to for 2011. Aside from an already stellar retro lineup seeing OG classics such as the Cement 3s, Bordeaux 7s, Playoff 13s, and Black/Silver 5s to name a few, it appears we may see even more well liked original and retro+ colorways next year. The same source that leaked the Air Jordan 11 info is also reporting a re-retro of the “Laney” and “Grape” Air Jordan 5s, along with the re-retro of the “Cement” Air Jordan 4, “Olympic” Air Jordan 6, and “Chicago” Air Jordan 10. Rumor has it the 5s will release in a package next fall with the 4s, 6s, and 10s rounding out the season. Will 2011 be the best year for Jordan retros since 2001 or is this too good to be true?
